motivational speaker Jody Fuller speaking on stage

TEDx speaker and Motivational speaker Jody Fuller is a nationally touring clean comedian, leadership trainer, and retired U.S. Army Major who blends humor, resilience, and real-world leadership to inspire audiences across the country. With a powerful mix of laughter and lived experience, Jody doesn’t just entertain—he connects, equips, and challenges people to lead better lives.

A proud Alabama native, Jody grew up in Opelika facing two significant obstacles: poverty and a lifelong stutter. Enlisting in the Army after high school helped him overcome financial hardship, but the stuttering remained. Rather than allowing it to define him, Jody leaned into discomfort, discipline, and resilience—principles that would shape both his military career and his speaking platform.

After serving four years as an Army medic, Jody returned home and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Auburn University at Montgomery. Following the attacks of September 11th, he felt called to serve again and completed Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was commissioned as a Transportation Officer.

He was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, Washington, and in November 2003 deployed to Iraq with the 296th Brigade Support Battalion of the Army’s First Stryker Brigade. During that deployment, he served as the platoon leader of the third largest platoon in the United States Army—proving that leadership is not about flawless speech but about courage, clarity, and commitment.

As his career progressed, his responsibilities expanded into broader logistics leadership roles. He would go on to deploy to Iraq two additional times while serving in the Alabama National Guard before transferring to the Army Reserves, where he was promoted to the rank of Major. Across a 24-year military career spanning Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserves, Jody earned a reputation for resilience, authenticity, and the ability to lead through adversity.

Today, that leadership foundation fuels his work as a motivational speaker and keynote presenter.
